Farragut Christian Church
Vision Statment
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2Chronicless 7:14
At the Heritage Weekend Retreat the Elders introduced the
vision statement of Farragut Christian Church. The purpose
of Farragut Christian Church is to reach the world for Jesus
Christ with grace and truth.
We believe that God has placed us in the Farragut community
to represent His interests and communicate the good news of
salvation offered in Jesus Christ. Our responsibility,
however, is not confined to this local ministry; we are
committed to a global mission and endeavor to send and
support those who would take the Gospel to every culture
and people group throughout the world. At the heart of
this mission is the grace of God that calls and empowers
us, and the truth of the Christian Scriptures that are
our authority for faith and practice. This purpose and
authority is unchanging and must hold our full devotion
without compromise or distraction.
Farragut Christian Church seeks to fulfill this purpose
with a commitment to the following methods:
- Shepherding as a style of leadership and training through a mentoring process. Our desire is that the work of the church is accomplished by leading by example rather than directing. All Christians are charged to participate in the work.
- A blended style of worship in an informal atmosphere. Our desire is to worship God in such a way that Christians will mature in their devotion to God and those outside of Christ will be attracted to the Gospel message.
- A small groups program for relationship building, discipleship, and pastoral care. Our desire is to make sure people are integrated (“connected”) into the church by building relationships with others in the congregation.
- A ministry team system. Our desire is to help Christians discover and use their spiritual gifts in meaningful Christian service both within the life of the congregation and in our community. Our goal is to fulfill the objectives of the church through ministry teams and involve a high percentage of our members in these ministries.
- An emphasis on ministry to the entire family. Our desire is to minister to the entire family at every stage of life development. We want to build strong marriages, encourage effective parenting and proved all the necessary resources for positive family life. This includes children, teens, college age and young adults, single people, senior adults and those whose lives have been tragically affected by death or divorce.
- A regular, systematic study of the Scriptures and enhancing the prayer life of the church. Our desire is to help every Christian grow in their understanding and application of the Bible and realizing in their personal lives the importance and power of prayer.
- Global outreach through a Faith Promise missions program. Our desire is to fulfill our responsibility to send and support missionary efforts throughout the world. The Faith Promise method is an effective program.
- A commitment to responsible financial stewardship. Our desire is to model
honest, responsible, sound financial principals and methods and to be
good stewards of the Lord’s money.
