Puerto Rico Mission

Johnathan and Mary Reece
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

Johnathan Reece has been serving the Lord in Puerto Rico since his graduation from Johnson Bible College in 1972.  After graduation he traveled to Puerto Rico to teach at a missionary training school called International Christian Mission Institute.  During the first two years on the field he met Mary, a graduate of Ozark Christian College who was teaching in a Christian elementary school.  They were married in December of 1974.  They have two children, Andrew and Ben.  They continued to work with the missionary training institute and elementary Christian School until mid-1977 when they resigned and moved to Mayaguez to work with a congregation just a few years old.  They worked with this church until August, 1986.

In September 1986 they stepped out in faith and moved to the town of Aguadilla on the northwest tip of the island to establish a new congregation in this city.  Nine people attended the first service.  Since that time the Lord has been opening up doors of growth.  A new church has been built and they average over 60 each Sunday for worship. God continues to bless the church with a steady flow of visitors. Although relatively small by stateside standards, it is the largest Christian Church on the island and appears to continue to move forward. The church is known for its unity and love. The members are now willing to use their talents in various ministries of the church and leading new community outreach activities.
