CHRISTIAN HOLY LAND FOUNDATION
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
UPDATE (July 1, 2005)

Upon Harold Slabaugh and John W. Samples reported details of the six couple candidates and the established works in progress; the board was very enthused. Many questions were asked and the board was very excited about the potentials.

Treasurer, Don Forrester reported our finances for March and April showed reasonable continuing support. We now have the funds to hire "all 6 families". We need to utilize our American Committee and step out in faith.

The potential in this Galilee area seems to be unlimited and the board unanimously approved the authority to Executive Director Steve Hammer and Assistant Secretary John C. Samples to make decisions on the field. They will travel to Israel on May 30 to meet with the "TEAM and the AWWADS" with letters of intent and agreements.

Christian Holy Land Foundation will have Mission Display Booths at all 3 of the North American Christian Conventions and also at the North American Missionary Convention in Atlanta. For Convention information: http://www.nacctheconnectingplace.org

TRIP TO GALILEE (Update From June 2005)

Christian Holy Land Foundation sent Board Members, Harold Slabaugh and John W. Samples to Israel to visit the six candidate families for mission work in the Galilee (Cana & Nazareth) area. These six Christian families are already involved and established with some works in progress in that area.

Harold and John had a wonderful fellowship, bonding and understanding of the hopes and fears of the Christians in the Holy Lands. Several of them had indicated abandonment by a U.S. Christian Mission in the past. Opportunities were open to having Harold and John speak in three of the Christian churches in this area.

These six families did not know each other before the mission sent them twice to Cairo, Egypt for Bible Study Courses with Safaa Fahmi in his Mission’s school. It was stated to Harold and John these six couples will continue "to work as a group, whether the Christian Holy Land Foundation would sponsor them or not." Harold and John were overwhelmed with God's plan as it is unfolding.

We met later with the six families at McDonald's. This was a very emotional time of fellowship with them. Andrea observed that God took "six jars of water and made the finest of wine from them; so HIS taking these six families and creating servants to HIS WILL is also a miracle."

AWWAD FAMILY UPDATE

Harold, John, Andrea and Saleem visited with Ibitihaje and her children ( Doris-22, Abeer-19, Joseph 17, Jack 14). By special request, Andrea said she had a calling from her prayers and God inspired to meet with Ibitihaje and asked to go along with our men to meet with her. The Awwad family is still in mourning and is living in isolation like condition. Traveling to Ramallah is near impossible and appears to be no Christian families close by to them. Saleem and Andrea recognized this and plan to visit, call and encourage the Awwads out of Christian love for this family. Doris has one more year of study at Bethlehem College. It appears that the college did not accept her credits from Jordan College.

Pictures of trip and families posted on the new Christian Holy Land web site. Check it out for pictures and updates of Mission News.

Praise the Lord ! Prayers are answered in MULTITUDES ! (Update Spring 2005)

Harold Slabaugh just returned from the Christian Bible Studies School in Cairo, Egypt. His mission was to meet with Christian couples and individuals that are already preaching and teaching God’s Word in some capacity in Israel. Almost immediately Harold and these Christian people bonded as “one in Christ” and with the same purpose of spreading the Gospel in the Holy lands.

Safaa Fahmi, the founder of the Bible Study School was instrumental in locating these dynamic, willing people who are eager to train and learn more to support our mission works. To date the Christian Holy land Foundation has sent all of them to Cairo for two training sessions for their evaluation.

Upon reviewing the extensive testimonies, resumes and personal information, the executive board was excited about the potential for overwhelming expansion of the mission’s work. We are interested in these Christians to carry on the work in the Holy land and plan to send them to Cairo for more training to further equip them for God’s Work. Prayerfully the board hopes to hire at least two of the couples within 6 months with the intention of adding more in the future.

In April, two executive members will follow up by traveling to Israel to visit with these Christians and see their ministries already in place.

Praise the Lord for your faithful prayers and support given in a critical time for this mission.

God used George Awwad to set the groundwork and now God is opening more doors of opportunity in an important time of History in the Middle East.

Please continue to pray for the mission and the expanded VISION OF GOD’S PLAN FOR THIS MISSION FIELD.
